More Landsat data available through immediate download from January 2015

17 December 2014

Since 2014, ESA has been providing users with an immediate access to Landsat TM and ETM+ higher level products as an easier and quicker alternative to the regular on-demand ordering, with more than 400,000 products already available.

In this context, we are dismissing also in Matera (the last site where it was in operation) the old Landsat processing chain for on-demand orders from 01 January 2015. Moreover the products available on the dissemination server for immediate download are of better quality due to improvement in the processing chain and all quality checked.

All Landsat-5 TM and Landsat-7 ETM+ orthocorrected products acquired by Kiruna and Maspalomas stations are already available via the ESA online dissemination system and EOLI-SA (access through Landsat-5 TM and Landsat-7 ETM+ dataset pages).

Landsat 7 ETM+ data acquired by Matera will be available in the first weeks of January 2015, while Landsat 5 TM GTC acquired by Matera will be available within February 2015.

Within the second quarter of 2015, ESA will progressively release Landsat 1 to 5 MSS orthocorrected products for immediate download. This will allow users a fast access to more than 40 years of Landsat data (1974 up to today) acquired by the ESA stations network (Covering polar areas, Europe, North Africa and Middle East).

New dataset releases will be published through regular news announcements on this site.

Access to the online dataset is available through Registration.
