ESA is pleased to announce that SAR data from the ERS-1 and the ERS-2 missions have been made available for direct download via the (A)SAR On-The-Fly (OTF) service.
With this release, users now have access to (A)SAR level 1 products from both ERS missions and from Envisat, covering Image Mode (IMS, IMP), Wide Swath (WSS) and Alternating Polarisation (APP, APS). All data are delivered as standard scenes in Envisat format.
Users are informed that the ERS-1/2 Precise Orbit data and the ERS-2 GOME datasets have been migrated to the ESA EO centralised online dissemination service.

A planned system maintenance at ESA-ESRIN will be affecting all Earth Observation (EO) SSO services; the activity has been scheduled on Thursday 15 December from 09:30 to 10:30 CET.

Five satellites spanning two decades have revealed variations in the timing and pace of glacial retreat in West Antarctica. Some glaciers' thinning spreads up to three times faster than on neighbouring tributaries, and was offset by decades.

Since the launch of the first Earth-observing satellites in the 1970s, numerous missions from international space organisations have taken to the sky. Today, decades of data are helping scientists to build a better picture of changes to our planet.
