The Vector Field Magnetometer on the Swarm C satellite was temporarily switched off from 05:52 UTC on 25 August 2014, until 11:25 UTC on 26 August 2014.

As of today the complete list of orbit manoeuvres of all three Swarm satellites is available for download by the user community.

Please note that the q_STR_VFM values reported in the header files (HDR) of the Swarm magnetometer low rate products recently regenerated with the latest values of the Euler angles (from launch to 4 July 2014 with the schema SW_OPER_MAGx_LR_1B and file counter 0302) are not correct.
The reprocessing of the complete set of magnetic L1b data has finished successfully. The newly available data are ready to be downloaded by the scientific community on the dissemination server.
The 3rd Swarm Science Meeting held in Copenhagen from 19 until 20 June 2014 (further information can be found here), raised a great deal of interest in the world wide press.

From 19 until 20 June 2014, DTU Space hosted the 3rd Swarm Science Meeting in Copenhagen. The meeting, sponsored by the European Space Agency took place in the IDA Conference Centre.

From 16 until 18 June 2014 the third Cal/Val meeting took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. Scientific experts from all over the world presented their latest findings on the scientific quality of the Swarm data and proposed ways to improve the value of the data even further.
In response to a request from the Swarm user community the full list of manoeuvres performed by the three satellites until the end of May 2014 is available for download here.
As of today ESA has released the next set of Level 2 products to the Swarm user community.

Since the latest update of the Level 1b processor, ESA has re-processed the complete Swarm dataset in parallel to the nominal processing. As of today the complete mission duration, starting from 25 November 2013, is re-processed and a coherent dataset has been produced.
In the summer of 2014 DTU Space will host the 3rd Swarm Science Meeting, sponsored by the European Space Agency (ESA). This meeting will take place at the IDA Conference Centre in Copenhagen on 19 to 20 June 2014 and is open to the science community at large. Attendance at the workshop is free of charge.
Please be aware that the deadline for abstract submission is today (30 May 2014)!

The European Space Agency is pleased to announce the release of the first set of products based on the Swarm satellites.
The Living Planet Fellowships are two-year post-doctoral research contracts which will be co-funded by ESA and hosted by a selected Host Organisation (e.g., universities, technical centres, laboratories, companies) from ESA Member States. Applications are currently open.

On 1 May 2014 ESA announced at the EGU (European Geophysical Union) General Assembly in Vienna / Austria, that part of the Level 1b data will be released to the general scientific user community.

On Wednesday 9 April the formal mission handover from ESTEC (Netherlands) to ESRIN (Italy) took place in ESRIN. This officially ends the development phase driven by ESTEC and starts the exploitation phase under the responsibilities of the Mission Management Office in ESRIN.

ESA has defined a new Earth Observation Data Policy which was approved by the ESA Earth Observation Programme Board in May 2010. The new data policy applies to the ESA missions, i.e. to ERS-1, ERS-2, Envisat, GOCE, SMOS, CryoSat and future Earth Explorer missions. It is derived from the Principles of Sentinel Data Policy.
