Swarm Alpha and Charlie: Magnetic field data regenerated from January 2018

07 April 2020

As anticipated on 12 February, for Swarm Alpha and Charlie only, the VFM (Vector Field Magnetometer) scaling that changes with time, i.e., s_t, needs to be slightly adjusted starting from 01 January 2018 onward.

Swarm Bravo: Scalar magnetic field data not available from 17 to 22 March 2020

31 March 2020

Due to an issue detected in the Swarm L1B data processing chain, the magnetic field intensity derived from the ASM instrument and stored in MAGx_LR_1B and MAGx_CA_1B products for Swarm Bravo is set to zero from 17 to 22 March 2020. This data gap will be recovered soon.

COVID-19: Nominal operational production of Swarm Science data

23 March 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic is evolving rapidly all around the world and impacts strongly most European Countries. Therefore, when possible, the Swarm teams located in different European countries have been asked to work from home in order to limit contamination risks.

Swarm EEF Level-2 products: daily generation and dissemination restored

23 March 2020

We would like to inform Swarm data users that the daily generation of EEF Level-2 product and their dissemination through the nominal folder has been restored.

New Swarm E (CASSIOPE) precise orbits and attitude data released

17 March 2020

We would like to inform Swarm data users that precise orbits and attitude quaternions for the year 2019 for the CASSIOPE/e-POP satellite are now available on the Swarm dissemination server in the following folders:

  • /#CASSIOPE_e-POP/Precise_Orbit_Data
  • /#CASSIOPE_e-POP/Precise_Attitude_Data

New EFI TII Cross-Track Flow dataset available for Swarm Charlie

05 March 2020

We would like to inform Swarm data users that an improved version of TII cross-track dataset (TIICT version 0201), previously delivered for Swarm Alpha and Bravo, is now available also for Swarm Charlie.

Swarm Alpha: Magnetic field data regenerated from 14 to 17 February 2020

24 February 2020

An issue was registered during the processing of the Swarm L1B Magnetic field data during 14 to 17 February 2020, which is when the ASM on-board this spacecraft was commanded in Burst mode.

New EFI TII Cross-Track Flow dataset available for Swarm Alpha and Bravo

12 February 2020

An improved version of the TII cross-track dataset (TIICT version 0201) is now available.

Swarm L1B and L2 operational processors updated

12 February 2020

On 11 February an improved version for both L1B and L2 (FAC, IBI, and TEC) Operational Processors was transferred into operation.

Swarm Bravo: Telemetry data gap from 17 to 18 January 2020

24 January 2020

Due to an issue on-board the Swarm Bravo spacecraft, no telemetry data were retrieved from 17 January 13:43 UTC to 18 January 10:41 UTC.

Updated Swarm EEF data now available

10 January 2020

We would like to inform Swarm data users that an improved version of EEF Level-2 product (version 0202) is now available.

Swarm Bravo: VFM issue from 31 December 2019 to 03 January 2020

08 January 2020

Due to an anomaly on the VFM (Vector Field Magnetometer) on board Swarm Bravo, the VFM science data was partially received from 31 December at 05:09 UTC to 3 January at 13:27 UTC.

Swarm Alpha: ASM instrument operating in burst mode from 15 to 23 December 2019

23 December 2019

From 15 to 23 December, the ASM (Absolute Scalar Magnetometer) instrument on board Swarm Alpha was commanded in burst mode.

Updated CryoSat magnetometer data now available

05 December 2019

We are pleased announce that an improved version of the CryoSat magnetic field data (version 0102) is now available in the "#CryoSat-2" folder of the ESA FTP server.

Swarm E (CASSIOPE) precise orbits and attitude data released

04 December 2019

Precise orbits for the year 2018 and attitude quaternions for the period from January 2014 to January 2019 were produced for the CASSIOPE/e-POP, which was incorporated as the fourth element of the Swarm constellation (Swarm-Echo) in 2018. These data sets are now available on the Swarm dissemination server.

Swarm Bravo: ASM instrument operating in burst mode from 24 November to 2 December 2019

29 November 2019

From 24 November to 2 December 2019, the ASM (Absolute Scalar Magnetometer) instrument on board Swarm Bravo was commanded in burst mode. This has temporarily caused the magnetic field intensity derived from the ASM and stored in MAGB_LR_1B and MAGB_CA_1B products to be set to zero from 24/11/2019, at 23:50 UTC to 02/12/2019 at 00:10 UTC.
