The non-gravitational acceleration and thermosphere density data, both derived from the GPS receiver data, were reprocessed for the entire period from launch in November 2013 until July 2019 for all three Swarm satellites.

A new baseline of the Equatorial Electric Field (EEFxTMS_2F) L2 product was released on 4 September 2019. This product contains the eastward Equatorial Electric Field (EEF) estimated from magnetometer measurements of each Swarm spacecraft as they cross the magnetic equator.

An anomaly occurred on the VFM (Vector Field Magnetometer) on board the Swarm Bravo satellite between 18:30 on 16 August and 12:59 UTC on 17 August.

From 11 to 19 August 2019, the ASM (Absolute Scalar Magnetometer) instrument on board Swarm Alpha was commanded in burst mode.

The data gap registered on 15 and 16 July 2019, due to the VFM issue on Swarm Charlie (see related news). has been partially recovered.
The data gap for the Swarm Alpha satellite between 10 and 12 June 2019 (see news published on 17 June 2019) has now been partially recovered.

An anomaly occurred on the VFM (Vector Field Magnetometer) on board the Swarm Charlie satellite between 14:09:06 on 15/07/2019 and 13:29:34 UTC on 16/07/2019.

Several tests were performed on the Swarm Charlie satellite on 15 July in order to investigate the anomaly that occurred on 28 April.
During these tests the instruments were switched off and on, causing data gaps for all the L0, L1A, L1B and L2-Cat2 products.
We are pleased to announce the new release of magnetic field data recorded by Fluxgate magnetometers operating on-board ESA's CryoSat mission.

Starting from the week 8-14 April, a new version of the Swarm Quality Report will be introduced. The improvements of this new version consist in a shorter description of all the data quality controls with the aim to report only the most significant information.

We would like to inform Swarm users that an on-board anomaly occurring on Swarm Charlie caused data gaps on all L0, L1A and L1B data products from 28 April 2019 onwards.
An orbit collision avoidance manoeuvre was performed on Swarm Bravo on 2 April 2019 at 00:23 UTC for a duration of 64 seconds, equivalent to a Delta V of 0.015 m/s.
We would like to inform Swarm users that from 12 December 2018, at 13:34:56 UTC and 18 December 2018, at 12:43:30 UTC, the attitude information of the Star Tracker instruments on board the Swarm Alpha and Charlie satellites, respectively, are provided at 2 Hz rate, instead of the previous 1 Hz.
