The first ortho-rectified image from the SPOT-5 Take 5 campaign has been released, and confirms the performance of the processing chain with all the necessary adaptations after the recent orbit change to the SPOT-5 satellite.

The SPOT-5 Take 5 campaign is the final phase of the SPOT-5 mission, and aims to acquire images of 150 selected sites before the satellite is deorbited in autumn.

The ortho-rectified image shows Lake Victoria on the coast of Uganda, and is superimposed on a Landsat 8 image of the same area for validation purposes. The two images match well, and ESA congratulates the teams at Airbus Defence and Space and CNES for their work.
