The 2010 General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union, held in Vienna during 2-7 May 2010, included a session (G7) fullly dedicated to current and future Earth gravity field missions.
The new MIPAS/ENVISAT operational processor (IPF) Version 5.05 was successfully activated in D-PAC processing site on 21 June 2010 for the off-line consolidated data processing.

The SCIAMACHY full mission reprocessing for level 1b data with the operational processor version 7.03 with processing flag "U" has been completed. The data set from 02 August 2002 to 22 January 2010 is made available progressively on the operational D-PAC ftp server ftp-ops-dp.eo.esa.int and is expected to be completed in the next week.

The SO2 validation orbits for the SCIAMACHY validation dataset corresponding to the operational Level 2 processor version 5.01 are now available to the validation teams - see also news of 14 April 2010.

A new version of the ERS-2 GOME Data Processor (GDP), Release 4.03, for Level 1 production has been made available and was transferred to operation on 22 June 2010.

As from June 2010 until further notice, ESA will no longer schedule ERS-2 SAR data for acquisition by the Hyderabad station in India.

Cape Town, a World Cup host city and the capital of the province, is seen in white and pink on the northern end of Cape Peninsula, which juts into the Atlantic Ocean. Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope are located on the peninsulas southern end.

The 2010 European Space Agency Living Planet Symposium follows the previous successful ENVISAT Symposia in Montreux (2007), Salzburg (2004), Gothenburg (2000), Florence (1997), Hamburg (1993) and Cannes (1992). The Symposium will provide an opportunity to present results from missions in exploitation (ERS-2, ENVISAT, GOCE, SMOS, CRYOSAT, Third Party Missions) and to introduce future ESA missions (GMES Sentinels, Earth Explorers, meteorological missions) and national EO missions.

The international community of scientists working on development and applications of altimetry in the coastal zone is meeting again in Porto this coming October for the 4th Workshop of this successful Coastal Altimetry series, hosted by the Faculty of Science, University of Porto.
