Reduced Artemis availability for Envisat data acquisitions

During the third Automated Transfer Vehicle mission ATV-3 (from 23 March to 25 August 2012), both Envisat and ATV-3 are making use of the communication services provided by the Artemis Data Relay Satellite.

Upgrade of L1c Operational processor in SMOS processing chain

A new version of the Level 1c processor (v505) has been deployed in the operational chain on 21 March 2012.

Re-processed SMOS data now available

16 March 2012

The recent reprocessing campaign for the entire SMOS data set has been completed and the data set can now be released to the SMOS user community.

Minimize Third Party Missions

New Landsat operational processor version 1.10

22 March 2012

Between 22 and 27 March 2012 the Landsat processor will be progressively upgraded to a new version (1.10) at ESA Stations.

GlobTemperature - User Consultation Meeting

27 - 28 June 2012

The aim of this first GlobTemperature User Consultation Meeting which will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland, is to survey users' requirements for satellite land surface temperature information.  

The other objective of this meeting is to explore the feasibility of meeting them with available data and techniques, and set a list of priority requirements to be addressed by a potential future GlobTemperature project.

20 Years of Progress in Radar Altimetry

To mark the 20 year anniversary of the launch of ERS-1 and TOPEX/POSEIDON, ESA, in collaboration with the French Space Agency, CNES, is organising a Symposium in Venice, Italy. This event will be sponsored by other partner agencies and organisations supporting the development of altimetry.

ESA-EUSC-JRC 2012 - Image Information Mining Conference

24 - 26 October 2012

The Eighth Conference on Image Information Mining will be held at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) Oberpfaffenhofen, Munich, Germany in October 2012. The event is sponsored by European Image Information Mining Coordination Group (IIMCG) and the Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS). This year's conference focuses on Knowledge Discovery from Earth Observation Data. The main topics to be discussed during the conference are: image information mining, image semantic automatic annotation, multi modal and multi-sensor information extraction. The event is aimed at European Space agencies and organisations, aerospace industry and research centres.
