The new release of EOLI-SA (v 7.0.6) is now available for download on the EOLI-SA web pages. All users will be requested to perform the update in order to continue working with EOLI-SA. Further information on changes and new features is available in the Release Notes for the new version.

Gulf of Mexico oil spill in the Loop Current

Scientists monitoring the US oil spill with ESA's Envisat radar satellite say that it has entered the Loop Current, a powerful conveyor belt that flows clockwise around the Gulf of Mexico towards Florida.

SCIAMACHY Level 1b off-line products Version 7.03 generated with outdated ADFs

14 May 2010

During the period 10-20 March 2010, erroneous SCIAMACHY Level 1b off-line products of version 7.03 were available for download on the D-PAC FTP server. 660 SCIAMACHY Level 1b products in the time range 2003 - 2009 were generated during the SCIAMACHY Level 0 to Level 1b full mission reprocessing campaign using outdated auxiliary files.

New global network validates SMOS soil moisture data

As ESA's SMOS mission nears the end of its commissioning, a new network will provide harmonised global datasets of soil moisture measurements collected from the ground, ensuring the data received from space are as accurate as possible.

Radar Remote Sensing Course

6 September 2010 - 10 September 2010

The European Space Agency (ESA) in cooperation with the Polish Academy of Sciences' Space Research Centre is organizing a training course named: Radar Remote Sensing Course that is addressed to Universities, Scientific Community, Institutions and Organisms making use of geoinformation. The course will provide participants with introduction to the microwave remote sensing technology as well as end-user applications examples of this technique within the environmental field.
Application deadline is 31 May 2010.
