SMOS and Proba-2 launch rescheduled for November 2009

Following an agreement between ESA, Krunichev Space Centre and Eurockot Launch Services, ESA's next Earth Explorer mission SMOS and a secondary payload, the technology demonstrator Proba-2 satellite, will now launch on 2 November 2009.

2nd Advanced Training on Ocean Remote Sensing 2009

ESA is organising a series of regular advanced thematic training courses - held yearly and hosted in European Universities and Research institutions - devoted to the exploitation of Earth Observation data from ESA and Third Party Mission instruments.
The deadline for application has been extended to 10 July 2009.

OceanObs '09 Conference

21 September 2009 - 25 September 2009

The OceanObs '09 symposium will celebrate a decade of progress and make a major contribution to chart the way forward for the coming decade. The aim is to strengthen and enhance the international framework under GCOS/GOOS/WCRP for sustained world ocean observing and information systems supporting the needs of society about ocean weather, climate, ecosystems, carbon and chemistry.
Deadline for registration is 1 September 2009.
