17 March 2010
The extension of the Envisat phase until 1 October 2010 (orbit 44896) has been implemented in the EOLI-SA catalogue. Envisat acquisition requests can now be submitted via EOLI-SA up until the indicated orbit included.
18 March 2010
Due to a scheduled migration of the ESA I-PAF/PAC archiving facility, some interruptions in the Near Real Time (NRT) and on-demand production services will be experienced during the period 22 - 31 March 2010. ERS-2 and Envisat data acquisitions performed by the Matera (Italy) station will remain unaffected.
As previously announced (mission operation news of 14 January 2010) the Envisat data transmission via Artemis (ESA Data Relay Satellite) will be interrupted for approximately one day as a consequence of the use of Artemis to support the forthcoming launch of the USV-2 (Unmanned Space Vehicle) mission. The USV-2 launch window has now been extended to end of April 2010.
Plots of the planned ERS-2 SAR acquisitions for the coming week are available here.

Earth Observation Events
28 June 2010 - 2 July 2010
The 2010 European Space Agency Living Planet Symposium follows the previous successful ENVISAT Symposia in Montreux (2007), Salzburg (2004), Gothenburg (2000), Florence (1997), Hamburg (1993) and Cannes (1992). The Symposium will provide an opportunity to present results from missions in exploitation (ERS-2, ENVISAT, GOCE, SMOS, CRYOSAT, Third Party Missions) and to introduce future ESA missions (GMES Sentinels, Earth Explorers, meteorological missions) and national EO missions.

The Next ESA SAR Toolbox (NEST) is a toolbox for reading, post-processing, analysing and visualising data of ESA SAR missions and Third Party missions starting from Level 1 data. Distributed as fully open source, NEST easily allows users the development of new readers and post-processors for SAR data by means of an Application Programming Interface (API).
The new version NEST 4A - 1.6 is now released.
