Network downtime at ESRIN on 20 February 2010

Due to maintenance, a network downtime is foreseen at ESRIN on Saturday 20 February 2010 from 09:00 to 21:00 CET.
The downtime will impact the e-mailing service, web (eoPortal, GEOportal) and other network connectivity including distribution of ERS and Envisat Near Real Time data. Access to ordering facilities (EOLI-SA) and on-line archives (FTP, Rolling Archive, EWFS, MERCI MERIS, MERCI MODIS) will also be affected.

MERCI MERIS - service resumed

The HW failure which occurred last week has been solved, and the MERCI MERIS service is now back to nominal operations.

Envisat orbit control manoeuvre (OCM) - Return to operation

16 February 2010

Following the planned orbit control manoeuvre (OCM) which was executed from 15 - 16 February 2010, the precise unavailability periods for the affected instruments are now available.

Western Norway

This Envisat image features a snow-flanked western Norway, located on the Scandinavian Peninsula in northern Europe.
This image was acquired by Envisat's Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) instrument on 9 February 2010, working in Full Resolution mode to provide a spatial resolution of 300 m.

HR GEO user consultation workshop

The European Space Agency has recently conducted a series of parallel studies to analyse different mission concepts to support Earth Observation (EO) applications based on high spatial resolution (HR) imaging from geostationary satellites. In order to consolidate the mission requirements, the European Space Agency will convene a HR GEO user consultation workshop at its ESRIN establishment in Frascati, Rome on the 14 and 15 April 2010.
Deadline for abstract submission is 22 February 2010.

ESA Living Planet Symposium 2010

28 June 2010 - 2 July 2010

The 2010 European Space Agency Living Planet Symposium follows the previous successful ENVISAT Symposia in Montreux (2007), Salzburg (2004), Gothenburg (2000), Florence (1997), Hamburg (1993) and Cannes (1992). The Symposium will provide an opportunity to present results from missions in exploitation (ERS-2, ENVISAT, GOCE, SMOS, CRYOSAT, Third Party Missions) and to introduce future ESA missions (GMES Sentinels, Earth Explorers, meteorological missions) and national EO missions.

Naval Traffic Statistics for Security provides NTSS value added products for the blue borders of Europe, for a given area of interest and a given time interval. Furthermore, this time interval can be repeated through several past years.
