The objectives of the workshops are to provide a forum for exchange on the latest advances and research in SAR polarimetry and to gather a scientific community for ESA's future BIOMASS mission.
10 - 13 February 2015
The ADM-Aeolus Science and Cal/Val Workshop will take place at ESA-ESRIN in Frascati, Italy, from 10 to 13 February 2015.
The objective of the workshop is to bring scientists and Cal/Val Principle Investigators (PI) together at ESA to present and discuss the upcoming ADM-Aeolus mission and its products, science applications and Calibration and Validation aspects. Furthermore, the scientific community are invited to present their plans for the use of the Aeolus data and to start getting familiar with the expected products and product quality.
18 - 19 March 2015
The European Space Agency is organising, in the context of the Data User Element (DUE) programme, a conference on Mapping Water Bodies from Space - MWBS 2015. The conference will be held at ESA-ESRIN (Frascati, Italy) on the 18 and 19 of March 2015.
The purpose of this conference is to provide scientists and data users with the opportunity to present first-hand and up-to-date results from their ongoing research and application development activities by using data from past and current satellites. The outcome of this conference will help to further shape the next generation of R&D activities in the frame of ESA's Earth Observation Programme.
23 - 27 March 2015
The European Space Agency, in the context of the Scientific Exploitation of Operational Missions (SEOM) element, is organising the 9th International Workshop Fringe 2015 'Advances in the Science and Applications of SAR Interferometry and Sentinel-1 InSAR'. The event will be hosted in ESA-ESRIN in Frascati, Italy from 23 to 27 March 2015.
The workshop is open to scientists, Sentinel-1 data users, students, representatives from national, European and international space agencies, and value adding industries.
The official language of the workshop is English. No participation fees will be charged. Participants are expected to finance their own travel and accommodation expenses.
12 - 17 April 2015
The EGU General Assembly 2015 will be held at the ACV centre in Vienna, Austria, from 12 to 17 April 2015. The event will bring together geoscientists from all over the world to one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, Planetary and Space Sciences. The EGU aims to provide a forum where scientists, especially early career researchers, can present their work and discuss their ideas with experts in all fields of geoscience.
25 - 29 May 2015
The 2nd SMOS Science Conference is jointly organised by ESA, CNES and SMOS-MODE and will take place at ESA-ESAC, near Madrid (Spain) from 25 to 29 May 2015.
The focus of this conference will deviate from previous events in that the emphasis will be on applications of SMOS data, including operational services, the development of novel data products, the synergistic use of SMOS data with other data sources and the potential of SMOS data for the generation of long-term data sets. The workshop will also cover common themes such as the quality of the Level 1 data products and calibration and validation activities.
The 2nd SMOS Science Conference will be preceded by a SMOS Training Course from 18 to 22 May 2015, organised by CESBIO and held as well at the ESA-ESAC premises near Madrid.
02 - 05 June 2015
The European Space Agency, in the context of the Scientific Exploitation of Operational Missions (SEOM) element, is organising an event dedicated to prepare for scientific exploitation of the Sentinel-3 mission, entitled "Sentinel-3 for Science Workshop", which will be hosted at the Palazzo del Casino in the Lido, Venice, Italy, from 02 to 05 June 2015.
The workshop is open to ESA Principal Investigators, co-investigators, Sentinel-3 users, scientists, students, representatives from national, European and international agencies and value adding industries. The outcome of this workshop will help to further shape the next generation of R&D activities in the frame of ESA's Earth Observation Programme.
