Some of the last images from ESA's ERS-2 satellite have revealed rapidly changing glacial features in Greenland. In its final days, the veteran satellite gave us frequent views of the Kangerdlugssuaq glacier and its advancing ice stream.
Following the results of the first annealing procedure applied to GOMOS instrument, ESA has decided to heat again some optical elements of GOMOS in order to observe the expected cumulative effect on the dark current decrease.
Earth Watching activities
These images of Rome and its surroundings were acquired by ERS-1 and ERS-2 during their long service around the globe, providing valuable information to the scientific community for 20 years.
