Reduced availability of Artemis for Envisat mission during USV-2 launch

The Envisat data transmission via Artemis (ESA Data Relay Satellite) will be interrupted for approximately one day as a consequence of the use of Artemis to support the forthcoming launch of the USV-2 (Unmanned Space Vehicle) mission.

An ERS-2 acquisition campaign is foreseen for the period 12 January - 15 February 2010.

ERS-2 SAR acquisitions - Gatineau and Prince Albert stations

22 December 2009

From 1 January 2010 and until further notice, the acquisition of ERS-2 SAR data shall not be performed anymore at the Gatineau and Prince Albert stations for any requests which do not originate from the Government of Canada.

Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia

This image captures the rugged and remote Kamchatka Peninsula on Russia's East Coast. The 1250-km long peninsula lies between the Pacific Ocean to the east and the Sea of Okhotsk to the west. This image was acquired by Envisat's Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) instrument on 12 November 2009, working in Reduced Resolution mode to provide a spatial resolution of 1200 m.
