09 June 2010
The first products based on GOCE satellite data are now available online through ESA's Earth observation user services tools. ESA launched the satellite in March 2009 on a mission to map Earth's gravity with unprecedented accuracy and spatial resolution.
Within the context of the Support to Science Element (STSE) of ESA's Earth observation programme, the Agency is announcing an invitation to tender for novel research and application based on GOCE data. The deadline for proposals has - upon request from bidders - been extended to 16 July 2010.
MIPAS processor Version 5.05: schedule of operational switch-on in NRT and off-line processing sites
09 June 2010
As previously announced (news of 3 June 2010) the ENVISAT/MIPAS operational processor (IPF) Version 5.05 will be switched-on in the ESA Ground Segment. The new processor will allow the operational processing of MIPAS Level 2 data.

Image of the Week
This Envisat image features a smoke-free Iceland. Although the island has received a lot of attention in the past months for its volcanic activity, it is also home to numerous glaciers, lakes, lava and hot springs. The image was acquired by Envisats Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer on 24 May 2010 at a resolution of 300 m.
Earth Observation Events
28 June 2010 - 2 July 2010
The 2010 European Space Agency Living Planet Symposium follows the previous successful ENVISAT Symposia in Montreux (2007), Salzburg (2004), Gothenburg (2000), Florence (1997), Hamburg (1993) and Cannes (1992). The Symposium will provide an opportunity to present results from missions in exploitation (ERS-2, ENVISAT, GOCE, SMOS, CRYOSAT, Third Party Missions) and to introduce future ESA missions (GMES Sentinels, Earth Explorers, meteorological missions) and national EO missions.
