Earth Observation Science 2.0

12 - 14 October 2015

The European Space Agency (ESA) invites you to attend the first EO Science 2.0 conference to be held in ESRIN (Frascati, Italy) from 12 to 14 October 2015 to present your work, share your experience with many scientists across disciplines, and influence the evolution of Earth Observation (EO) science support activities.

EO Science 2.0 refers to the rapid and systematic changes in doing and organising EO science driven by the rapid advances in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) combined with a growing demand to do Science for Society and Science in Society. Today, rapid exchange of digital information is fostering a new world of data-intensive research, characterised by openness, transparency, reproducibility of results, access to large volume of complex data, availability of community tools and massive computing power, and new collaboration among researchers and new actors such as Citizen Scientists. In this context, this first conference will explore the new challenges and opportunities created by these rapid advances in ICT for EO science and develop a roadmap to address them.
