Changing lands

This animation shows how satellite data and ESA's Climate Change Initiative are mapping land cover around the globe. As well as showing how vegetation changes with the season, these maps are updated every year to show how land cover is changing in the longer term.

CryoSat NOP production started

CryoSat scientific users are informed that the Ocean Baseline C NOP production has started and products are already available on the Science Server. Quality of products has been checked and it is in line with expectations.

Call for Research Proposals - Living Planet Fellowship 2018

EGU 2018 - Mentoring application deadline

The General Assembly 2018 of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) is going to be held at the Austria Center Vienna (ACV) in Vienna, Austria, from 08 to 13 April 2018. The assembly will bring together geoscientists from all over the world to one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, planetary and space sciences, and it is open to scientists of all nations.

Novice conference attendees, students, or early career scientists who wish to sign up to the EGU 2018 Mentoring Programme can do so within the application deadline of 31 January 2018.

SeaSAR 2018 - Abstract submission is open

The European Space Agency is organising the 5th 'Advances in SAR Oceanography' workshop - SeaSAR 2018 - which will be hosted in ESA-ESRIN, Frascati, Italy, from 07 to 10 May 2018.


Abstracts can be submitted online until the deadline of 31 January 2018.

ALOS PALSAR - Issue with level 1.0 Fine Beam (stripmap) acquisitions

Please be aware that in the ALOS FBS_RAW_0P and FBD_RAW_0P collections on the dissemination server the files contained in the .CEOS bundle are incorrectly named as Wide (ScanSAR) products: they are actually products in Fine Beam observation mode as can be seen by the 70 km swath of these acquisitions.

An investigation ascertained that the other collections (polarimetric products and higher level products) are not impacted by the issue.
