The Dutch province of Zeeland is the westernmost and least populous province of the Netherlands, and is well known for most of the province being below sea level.
The region is renowned for the engineering marvels of the Delta Works, with its large number of dams, dykes, sluices and storm drains protecting people and valuable nature against flooding and coastline erosion.
