HEDAVI – the EO data visualisation tool for ESA EO Heritage Missions
10 October 2016
For the last 30 years, the European Space Agency (ESA) has been providing Earth Observation (EO) data, technical information and data analysis tools in support of EO satellite missions. The HEDAVI (HEritage DAta Visualisation) service enables users to discover a wealth of heritage data from ESA's ERS and Envisat missions, as well as from Landsat-5 and Landsat-7, two important heritage Third Party missions at ESA, through ESA's heritage data programme ‘LTDP'.
The images can be exported in GeoTIFF or KML/KMZ format or shared via Twitter. Further information on functionalities and handling of the tool is provided in the quick start video.
Among others, the Deforestation in Cambodia and the Urban Growth in Dubai showcase environmental changes, which have been detected with the above mentioned satellites and are available in the HEDAVI Gallery.
The following EO products can be visualised within the HEDAVI service:
It is not possible to directly download the above products through HEDAVI, but access to these products is available through ESA's data dissemination servers following a simple user registration.
