1st International SORBETTO Summer School

The European Space Agency (ESA) through its Earth Observation ground segment team responsible for the Sensor Performance and Product Algorithm (SPPA) is co-sponsoring, the 1st International summer school-conference: "SORBETTO: SOlar Radiation Based Established Techniques for aTmospheric Observations", together with the Institute of Atmospheric Sciences and Climate of the National Research Council of Italy (ISAC-CNR) and the University Sapienza of Rome.

The school will be held in Rome from 02 to 06 July 2018 and is open to researchers, young or not, PhD students and workers involved in this type of atmospheric observations. Attendance is free of charge.

The school will include theoretic lessons and laboratory activities held by international teachers from leading Universities and Research Centers in Europe and Asia. For further information as well as to submit requests for participation, see the ISAC-CNR website

Zooming in on Mexico's landscape

As part of a scientific collaboration with the Mexican Space Agency, ESA has combined images from the Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission to produce a detailed view of the vegetation growing across the entire country.

The high-resolution land-cover map combines images captured by Copernicus Sentinel-2 between 2016 and 2018.
