Hawaii GEO Supersites - ASI contributes with COSMO-SkyMed data
13 June 2012
The Italian Space Agency (ASI) is supporting the GEO Hazard Supersite with an annual quota of approximately 100 COSMO-SkyMed X-Band SAR scenes. The data, in combination with other space and in-situ data sources, complying to the GEO data sharing and cross-cutting principles, will help to advance significantly the knowledge on the Kilauea and the Mauna Loa volcanoes, Hawaii.
The Hawaiian Supersite is the first Supersite fulfilling the requirement of containing a complete data set.
The data provided by ASI will be gradually loaded on the Supersite and then made available for scientific use after signing the COSMO-SkyMed license for use by the scientists.
