Minimize Strait of Kerch, Russia

This TerraSAR-X image, acquired 04 March 2014, shows the Strait of Kerch in Russia.

The strait is a waterway that connects the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Visible in this image is the Chuska Spit, a thin peninsula that stretches out into the strait, and is also the location of Port Kavkaz, which can be seen in the lower-left corner of this image.

The possibility of creating bridges that span the Strait of Kerch has been considered, including one from the Chuska Spit, but recent developments in Ukraine have put these plans on hold.
