Aftermath of tornado in Moore, Oklahoma, U.S.A.
This Pleiades image, acquired 23 May 2013, shows the aftermath of the devastating tornado that tore a path through Moore, in the city of Oklahoma, U.S.A.
The path of destruction can clearly be seen through the centre of this image, with flattened homes, buildings and the surrounding debris.
The tornado, which struck Moore on 20 May, was classified as EF-5; the highest on the Fujita scale. At least 24 deaths have been reported, and over 200 people were injured. It is estimated that almost 13,000 homes were either damaged or destroyed by the tornado.
