Dr Adam El-Said currently holds a post-doctoral research position at The Open University, Department of Physical Sciences. He completed his PhD at the University of Reading in 2015 titled: "Conditioning of the Weak-Constraint Variational Data Assimilation Problem", where he studied the conditioning of the two weak-constraint 4DVAR minimisation problems. He was then involved in a project developing the Met Office Solar Wind Model known as ENLiL, with the atmospheric physics group, Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading. He is now developing the data assimilation techniques currently used for the Martian Weather/Climate Models.
Adam's interests lie in numerical analysis of data assimilation techniques, and the application and development of data assimilation techniques for weather prediction purposes.
