Claude Duguay is a professor of geomatics and Earth systems science in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Waterloo, Canada. He has been involved in several ESA projects. He was previously a member of the Mission Assessment Group of Cold Regions Hydrology High-resolution Observatory (CoReH2O), principal investigator of the STSE North Hydrology project and co-investigator of the DUE Permafrost project.

Claude has authored/co-authored over 190 publications on topics related to remote sensing, environmental modelling, lake/land-atmosphere interactions, the cryosphere, hydrology, and climate change. Results from his research have appeared in the 2007 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report. He is a regular contributor to the Arctic Report Card, a NOAA-led climate assessment published annually as a contribution to the "State of the Climate" in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society.
