Minimize Monfalcone, Italy

Monfalcone is a town and comune of the province of Gorizia in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, northern Italy, located on the Gulf of Trieste. Monfalcone means "Mount of Falcon" in Italian. Today we focus our tour over the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone to commemorate a big event for this shipyard. On 29 November 2017, Fincantieri shipyard delivered the largest ever built Italian cruise ship named the "Seaside". The Seaside is the first of two twin ships under construction ("Seaview", will be delivered by Fincantieri in the spring of 2018) at Monfalcone.

The aim of the Landsat-8 and Sentinel-2 images acquired at the end of November 2017 is to show users that the two ships are clearly visible inside the quay (i.e. located on the upper left of the image) of dry dock, using different resolutions provided by these satellites.
