Earth Observation and Remote Sensing - Secondary level teacher's pack
The worksheets in this pack are intended to familiarise pupils between the ages of 11 and 14 with the subject of satellite imagery. Satellite images are of increasing importance in a great many domains and are dramatically changing the way we view the world and perceive physical phenomena. Both literally and figuratively, they add a new dimension to our knowledge, whether it be in the study of natural phenomena or in assisting humans in their various activities. Their use -- and understanding -- by pupils is one of the aims of this project.

New ERS SAR High Rate Products and Format
The sample products provided on this CD give an example of how the new ERS SAR products will be made available using the ASAR core processor: starting from January 2005 new ERS SAR products will be made available only in ENVISAT format. However, classical ERS products will be available in both ENVISAT and CEOS formats to ensure continuity. Read the abstract link or order the CD for details.

Scatterometer and Radiometer Land Applications
The results obtained in the study of land applications of space-borne scatterometers and radiometers are presented here. The investigations have been conducted using data from two microwave instruments: the ERS-1 Wind Scatterometer and the SSM/I radiometer. The potential of these present systems is analysed and new inversion techniques for various applications are developed. The study also emphasises the investigation of scatterometer image resolution enhancement techniques.
