15 cm HD and 30 cm HD products added to EUSI ESA archive collections

13 Jan 2022

Two new products, 15 cm HD and 30 cm HD, have been added to the collections from GeoEye-1, QuickBird-2, and WorldView (1 – 4). Through an agreement with European Space Imaging (EUSI), ESA provides access to data from these missions to researchers upon successful submission and evaluation of a project proposal.

ESA will support as many high-quality and innovative projects as possible within the quota limit available, therefore only a limited amount of data can be allocated to each project. Availability and restrictions to the use of the data are described in the ESA Third Party Missions (TPM) T&C and in the Terms of Applicability document.

The 15 cm HD and 30 cm HD products are generated by using MAXAR HD Technology to reprocess existing 30 cm and 40 – 60 cm native resolution imagery, respectively. While the ground sampling distance (GSD) of the imagery is unchanged, images produced with HD Technology have more pixels, thus reducing apparent pixellation and improving the overall visual clarity.
