Vegetation (VGT)
About Vegetation (VGT)
The main PROBA-V payload is the Vegetation sensor (VGT): a multispectral pushbroom spectrometer with four spectral bands and a very large swath of 2285 km to guarantee daily coverage above 35° latitude.
Swath Width | 2285 km |
---|---|
Spectral Bands | 447-493 nm (blue); 610-690 nm (red); 777-893 nm (NIR), 1570-1650 nm SWIR |
Ground Sample Distance | VNIR: 100 m at nadir, 360 m at edge of swath; SWIR: 200 m at nadir, 600 m at edge of swath |
Data Description
ESA offers to registered user the external access through the VITO Product Distribution Portal to the following data collections:
- PROBA-V 1Km, 333m and 100m products: PROBA-V VEGETATION Raw products (L1C/P) and synthesis products. For NRT data, submission of project proposal is requested
Data Tools
Sentinel Application Platform (SNAP)
The SNAP PROBA-V Toolbox consists of a rich set of visualisation, analysis and processing tools for the exploitation of the VEGETATION instrument.
Vegetation (VGT) Cal/Val
The goal of VGT calibration and validation activities was to verify the accuracy and quality of data the instrument acquired. PROBA-V Cal/Val Plans for the radiometric and geometric calibration can be downloaded.
Vegetation (VGT) Quality Control Reports
Quality Control is monitoring routinely the status of the spacecraft (payload and platform) and to check if the derived products meet the quality requirements along mission life-time. PROBA-V Quality Control Reports are available for Products Availability, Monthly Ground Segment Reports and Quarterly Image Quality Reports.
