The goal of calibration and validation activities is to verify the accuracy and quality of data the instrument acquired.
The Phased Array L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR) aboard ALOS-1 was a successor sensor to the synthetic aperture radar on board JERS-1 with more advanced functions such as higher spatial resolution capability, variable off-nadir angles and additional modes such as full-polarimetry mode and ScanSAR mode.
Through the Online Dissemination server, ESA offers registered users access to the following data collections:
- ALOS PALSAR products: FBS, BFD, PLR and WB1 modes in RAW, GDH, GEC and SLC processing level
- ALOS PALSAR International Polar Year Antarctica: PALSAR data focused on polar regions
