Constraining a viscoelastic coupling model of the North Anatolian Fault (NAF) along the Ganos segment by Permanent Scatterers

Abstract

We apply the permanent scatter interferometry (PS-InSAR) technique, using data from ERS1/2 satellites, to map the interseismic crustal deformation across the Gazikoy-Saros (Ganos) segment of the North Anatolian Fault (NAF), northwestern Turkey. The phase measurements at permanent scatterers are then integrated with geologic and seismological observations to constrain a two-dimensional viscoelastic coupling model for this strand of the NAF.
