Use of InSAR for Monitoring of Mining Deformations

Abstract

Development of procedures leading to determination of ground deformations and slope stability in the vicinity of open pit mining operations utilising the analysis of differential satellite interferograms (InSAR) produced from satellite radar images (Single Look Complex) provided by the European Space Agency. Validation of deformation model obtained using InSAR technology against the deformation model developed from existing GPS and prism monitoring systems.
