15 July & 6 May

Wroclaw (Poland) - Oder river
The first image show the Oder river course from the city of Wroclaw (lower right corner) to the town of Glogow (central left), while the second one shows more in detail the area around Wroclaw. The cluster of bright points at the bottom left of the second image represents the town of Legnica. A large flooding is clearly visible in blue around the Oder river banks between Wroclaw and Scinawa (second image), where the flowing direction of the river has changed from E-W to S-N.
Somewhere, mainly in the left part of this image, the colour of the water surfaces is dark blue or back; this means that these sites are normally covered by water. The light blue tones diffused over the second image depend on the effect of the heavy rain fall during the satellite acquisition.
