Quito

The city of Quito, one of the world's highest capitals at 2,850 meters above sea level. The Mariscal Sucre Airport, surrounded by dense urban areas, is clearly visible to the north, while to the south the dark polygon marks the Parque La Carolina. Southwest of the park lies the old historical centre of Quito, which was placed on Unesco's World Heritage list in 1978.
