France: Gulf of St. Malo
Orbit 33515 Frame 2619 September 17, 2001 11:00 GMT
To the right: the coast of Normandy.
On top: the Island of Jersey, a British Crown dependency.
Bottom: the coast of Bretagne, with Mt. St. Michel (to the right) rising from a flat shoreline along the bay. At high tide, the strongest currents surround the island with water.
To the left of it: St.Malo, built on a rocky promontory and an adjacent islet. It is not only a popular tourist spot, but also a seaport and fishing and manufacturing centre.
