Software upgrade at PDHS-E (ESRIN)
A major software upgrade related to the archive facility at PDHS-E (ESRIN) is planned on Monday 23 November 2009. Being a major upgrade, functionality will be resumed gradually in order to ensure proper monitoring.
 
New version of the ASAR operational processor
Starting on 24th November 2009 and progressively thereafter at all processing centres across the Envisat ground segment, a new version of the ASAR processor [05.03L03] will be used to generate Near-Real Time (NRT) and off-line products.
 
Envisat orbit 40336 not aquired at PDHS-K (KIRUNA)
The Envisat orbit 40336 (ASAR) was not acquired at PDHS-K (KIRUNA) due to antenna problems.

Greek fires seen from space
ESA's Envisat satellite captures thick clouds of smoke billowing from wildfires that have been raging through Greece and are threatening the capital, Athens.
These images were acquired by Envisat's MERIS optical instrument on 22 and 24 August 2009, working in Full Resolution mode to provide a spatial resolution of 300 metres and are available on the MIRAVI website.
