Synergy between MERIS, ATSR and SCIAMACHY cloud retrieval

Abstract

This presentation discusses the use of MERIS and ATSR data together with SCIAMACHY cloud retrieval. The aim of the project is the use of additional cloud parameters not provided by SCIAMACHY algorithms and the high spatial resolution of the MERIS/ATSR data to improve current SCIAMACHY cloud algorithms and to investigate subscale effects on the results. The potential of these ideas are discussed with respect to the development of a new algorithm within 12 months.
