New products available from the (A)ATSR Archive

The (A)ATSR Archive has been successfully providing users with ENVISAT-format data products from AATSR as well as ATSR-1 and ATSR-2 for the past 4 years. New products are now available from the archive jointly hosted by ESA and the NEODC, including: (1) L1b and L2 products from the recent ESA reprocessing of AATSR, (2) L1b and L2 products from the recent RAL/NEODC reprocessing of ATSR-1 and ATSR-2, and (3) GHRSST L2P products generated from all 3 missions.
Recent work has made a number of improvements to the RAL Archive Product Processor, used to generate ENVISAT-format products from ATSR-1 and -2, enabling closer alignment with AATSR products. In addition, a new scheme for Single Sensor Error Statistics for (A)ATSR, developed by the University of Leicester, has been implemented in a new processor developed at RAL. This has been used to produce a new dataset covering all 3 missions in GHRSST L2P format, a community-driven SST format combining SST observations with contextual information from contemporaneous ancillary data sources such as local wind speed and error statistics. Together, these enable analysis systems such as the UK Met Offfice OSTIA system to make use of the 17-year timeseries now provided by the (A)ATSR series of instruments.
