Two-dimensional Co-Seismic Surface Displacement Associated with Wenchuan Earthquake Measured Using PALSAR and ASAR Data

We use both ALOS PALSAR and ENVISAT ScanSAR data to map the two-dimensional coseismic ground surface deformations associated with the Mw = 8.0 earthquake that occurred in Sichuan Province, China on 12 May 2008. Both the differential interfrometric synthetic aperture radar (DInSAR) and the sub-pixel SAR amplitude image matching methods are used in processing the data. The results from the different data sources and data processing methods are integrated to geenerate the final two-dimensional co-seismic deformation map of the earthquake area.
