A seepage near the Norwegian Coast
The
figure shows another ERS-1 image acquired on 23 August 1994 over the Norwegian
coast. The central part of the image shows a signature with large contrast and
a suspicious slick shape.
The observed slick direction corresponds very well with the wind direction estimate.
According to the wind direction, the slick is stretched out in the NE direction.
The seepage probably hits the surface where the slick is at the thickest and
it narrows down as the slick is dispersed by wind and wave action.
